APP Design, a software development firm specializing in the design, development and integration of healthcare systems, announced that it has been selected to design and develop a real-time patient consent interface for WNYHealtheNet through its RHIOnet product. RHIOnet is a secure, Web-based, healthcare information exchange system designed to deliver accurate and timely healthcare data to caregivers distributed across wide geographical areas.

The devotion teenagers' pay to their text messages may not be a bad thing, if children's hospitals can use it to help boost medication adherence in their patients. According to a 2010 report from the Pew Internet and American Life Project, half of teens send 50 or more text messages a day, or 1,500 texts a month, and one in three send more than 100 texts a day, or more than 3,000 texts a month.
